Key activities included:

Training

Due to questions that auditors had raised about regional training grants as well as the possibility of using a different technology to deliver the training without travel, the Regional Council offered four different courses through the Internet. Classes could be done on Wikis, RSS, Blogs, or Google. The instructors were Lisa Holmberg and Michael Sauers of BCR. Since we are still in the process, the evaluation of the classes and of this technology to deliver it is not complete. We do know that of the six classes that have happened so far, 78 people or sites (some sites had several people listening) participated. There are six more classes still to happen.

Sirsi iBistro/iLink Interface

The Regional Council received a request from the Online Quality Committee to consider a new interface available from Sirsi. We worked through the process and along with the Governing Board approved its adoption and set a timetable for when the event would take place. We dealt with a couple of other minor WYLD issues.

WYLD Office Reports

It is worth being on the council in order to receive the reports of what is happening in the WYLD Office. Brian Greene’s report is always informative; always providing important information for the Regional Council to share. It might be helpful if Brian did bimonthly WYLD Office reports to WYLD news.

Thanks

Thanks to Suzanne, Diane, Marci, Jeanette, Jack, Claire and Stephanie for their work on Regional Council. It is through their efforts that the above was accomplished. Thanks to Brian Greene and the WYLD office for their support and guidance to the work of Regional Council. Thanks to Jerry Krois who did the actual work in setting up the training sessions with BCR.
