annual meeting

Annual Report

The board met via conference call in late summer to discuss how Endowment Challenge grant funds from the Wal-Mart Foundation should be disbursed. Libraries were given the option of using their state accounts or having a check sent to their foundation.

The WLA ad-hoc committee hosted a very informative and well-received post-conference workshop in October. A WLF grant of $5,500 was awarded to the committee to assist with costs, but no funds were needed.

Carol Brown of Western Wyoming College Library agreed to replace retiring academic library representative Diana Oedekoven on the board.

Several libraries inquired as to whether they could use the services of the Foundation if endowment challenge grants could not be requested through individual library foundations. Evidently those libraries were successful as no grant applications have been received to date.

The Foundation will be managing funds in the amount of $7,000, a Wyoming Community Foundation grant, to be used for the Wyoming Library Association Crossroads Task Force.

The Foundation will have one, possibly two vacancies, with the new fiscal year. If interested, please contact me at
