3. Changes or additions to the agenda, approve agenda and minutes from last meeting, Jan. 16, 2008
   1. No changes or additions to the agenda, agenda approved.
   2. VIII Comments from minutes changed to: Symphony is not geared toward the school level, symphony is not a web client. Symphony is the re-branding of the Unicorn product, there is Symphony which is essentially GL3.2, there is currently the C client and the Java client and Sirsi is working on developing a web-based client but presently it is only targeted towards K-12. More may be learned at User’s conference for them to put more development work yet for a broader customer base. All of those three clients are clients that use the Symphony platform.
4. Discuss the coding problems with the foreign language material
   1. Beth – found a problem with foreign language material when doing an advanced search in the catalog, for example looking for books in book format in German language resulted in several English titles and English words, the fixed field of the MARC record indicated German for language even though it was an English book, asked Bobbi to look into it.
   2. Bobbi – Des ran extracts using Directors Station. Right now working on 906 French coded works, both print and non-print, 102 of those are done. They are a result of bad cataloging practices for original records in the state, some of them were OCLC records that are incorrectly coded in OCLC, some are records where it will appear in the advanced search in English with an English title because the library has stripped off the French title as part of the 245, it is a combination of all sorts of things. This is a manual process so it will take a while to get through all of them. People are encouraged to correct these as they run across them. Des would like to emphasize there isn’t an indexing problem and they don’t believe this is a problem caused by something like a corrupted migration issue.
5. Update on status of Authority Processing project
   1. Bobbi – Targeting Memorial weekend for index rebuild. Could send records to LSSI as soon as Monday. The next opportunity for the reindexing would be July.
6. Update on issues of libraries having over 60 items on serial records.
   1. Beth – got a report that Marc generated, Casper College had 4 items on the report, 3 titles were taken care of right away. The previous report had several pages of titles. Beth asked Bobbi how it was looking for other libraries. Bobbi – some libraries still have several, some have over 100 items on a record, one library has 220 items on a record. Some libraries have several titles that are over but the titles only have one or two over the limit so they are in good shape. Overall it is working but there are some libraries that are very resistant to moving off of specific titles, those titles continue to grow. Stephen – inquired if certain titles were exempt.
   2. Des – realizes that individual committee members are interested in their libraries results on the report but suggests as representatives of this committee to consider contacting libraries in region to ask them if they are having problems with the report if they need more explanation why they are getting the report.
   3. Beth – inquired if the committee was comfortable contacting other libraries in their region. Suggested that this could be a topic for region meetings. Kristy – asked who to contact specifically, Bobbi said she could provide names.
