    1. Beth asked the committee to list one or two items or more
Susan – authority name control issues with Russian names are presenting a problem because of special characters. Stephen – authority control issues concerning no edit times, problematic to have extended times that we don’t edit, majority of linking done by non MLS catalogers
Cindy – finding books in series, finding out if a book is in a series, problems with holds getting stuck on one item. Des stated that holds were not an issue for the OQC and suggested Cindy give some specific examples to Trish who would help determine the problems with the holds.
Des – address article linker/serial solutions integration into WYLD, Gale most used authors and would like a survey to go out about this issue. There was some discussion regarding the automatic updates being done in OCLC and Des advised that Trish would be sending out an extensive network message about this topic as soon all the procedures are in place that pertain to this topic. Cindy had questions regarding the OCLC updates and reports and Des clarified that there will be reports available in Unicorn to let OCLC know about discard items or added items. Des also addressed that Ebsco is working with Google to load WYLD holdings from Ebsco into Google Scholar. The holdings are from the Ebsco databases that the state provides only.
Bobbi – would like to continue to work on some of the ongoing issues such as the libraries that continue to have more than 60 issues per serial record. A report was run in March and then again in July and it may be time to look into how to handle libraries that don’t comply.
Beth – would like to go over database guidelines. Bobbi stated she would be doing updated screen shots for the guidelines for the Java client. Beth would also like to explore MARC records being loaded into WYLD such as Oxford Reference.
