WSL receives LSTA grant of $566,235
The Fiscal Year 2002 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services was awarded to the Wyoming State Library (WSL) in February 2002.
The award took the U.S. Congress longer to approve because of the Sept 11 attacks; however, $566,235 is available, $99 more than last year.
“The money gets used for training credits, competitive grants to individuals and grants to the 12 state institutions,” said Jerry Krois, Wyoming deputy state librarian. “It also gets used for continuing education grants to schools and special librarians and several salaries at the Wyoming State Library.”
Funds support much of the travel for WSL employees to go out into the state to conduct training and also pays for most publications, WorldCat access, the large print rotation collections and the library science collection.
Each year the State Library submits an annual report to IMLS that outlines how the money was used and identifies special accomplishments.
